Brothers,
Football is back Saturday. Coach James Franklin opens his first season at Lane Stadium against VMI on September 5, and for most of us that is the easiest excuse all year to get back to Blacksburg.
Game Day: tell us where to find you
The events page now carries a game-by-game board for the 2026 home schedule. Open a game, see which brothers will be there and where they are parked, and add your own spot. Three brothers are on it already: Jay Johnston is in Lot 55 at the end of the Drillfield for every home game, Judd Robins is at Lombardi's Tailgate for Pitt, and Deane Boone is in Lot 2 for VMI. Everyone knows where to find Steve Daves; list where to find you.
Add your spot: nuprime.org/events.html#gameday
Names and lots are public. Email is optional and never shown.
While you are there, circle Homecoming: the week of October 12 to 17, capped by Georgia Tech at Lane on Saturday the 17th. If you make one game weekend this fall, make it that one.
Your updates are working
Since the last issue, brothers have written in with corrections and additions: pledge classes fixed, email addresses updated, a Starduster added to the roll, and a brother we had listed as missing who turned out to be reachable all along. Every one has been applied to the directory. The Missing Brothers list is down to 140, and each note gets us closer.
Keep them coming. A line to [email protected] is all it takes. The directory is at nuprime.org/directory; the password is in the brothers-only note in this email.
Chapter Celestial
Since the last issue we have learned of the passing of two brothers, Paul G. Carper (Alpha Eta, 1982) and Kenny Carper (Pi, 1977), brothers by blood as well as by bond. Both have been added to Chapter Celestial. If you have a memory of either you would like shared, reply to this email and we will include it in a future issue.
Mark the calendar: 2027
Reunion 2027. Virginia Tech's Alumni Weekend is June 10 to 13, 2027, and the association's reunion follows it as it has the last few years. Plan on Friday, June 11 for golf, the alumni meeting, and the banquet, and Saturday, June 12 for the cookout on Eakin Street. Registration is not open yet, but rooms can be reserved now through the lodging link on Virginia Tech's Alumni Weekend page, and the Inn at Virginia Tech fills first. The RSVP opens this winter, here.
Grand Conclave, Charlottesville, July 21 to 24, 2027. Kappa Sigma's Grand Conclave lands a few hours from most of the roll next summer. It is not a replacement for June in Blacksburg; it is an extra chance to gather. The board is looking at a Nu Prime lunch on Friday, July 23 for any brother in or near Charlottesville that weekend, whether or not you register for Conclave itself. If you already know you will be there, reply and we will size the room.
50 years and 25 years
2026 marks 50 years for the Xi and Omicron pledge classes, initiated in 1976, sixteen brothers in all, and 25 years for Gamma Gamma and Gamma Delta, initiated in 2001, fifteen more. If you are in one of those classes, send a photo or a story from your era and we will run it in the next issue.
Four brothers from each class are on the Missing Brothers list. If you know how to reach any of them, a note to [email protected] closes the gap.
Class of 1976: Thomas R. Cotten III, Peter A. De Luca, David M. Dickerson, William D. Poe
Class of 2001: Gregory K. Hessler, David A. Jarmuth, Jeffrey S. Nasser, Thomas V. Wasniewski

Richmond, and wherever you are
Richmond brothers meet monthly, usually the third Thursday. If you are in the area and want in, reply and we will connect you. Want a gathering near you? Name a city and we will put the call out here.
Pass it on
634 brothers get this newsletter. There are 783 on the roll. If you know a brother who is not receiving it, forward this one and point him to nuprime.org/newsletter.html.
See you Saturday.
